You will be guided through an all-levels yoga practice to explore body alignment while improving strength, flexibility and stamina in a supportive environment. Melt away tension while linking your breath and movement to energize your mind, body and spirit. All in the company of horses!
Sessions will be held on Saturdays 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM and are for geared for participants age 18 and over.

COMING SOON! Somatic Yoga & Myofascial Release
April J Yoga is the hosting location for this certification. I will be working on learning and obtaining a certification in Somatic Yoga & Myofascial Release. If you are not familiar with this healing modality you are in for a treat! Somatic Yoga helps to facilitate healing for the nervous system, musculoskeletal system, and the brain. By working on a subtle level, somatics help us turn our awareness inward where healing begins.
This Somatic Yoga & Myofascial Release 30hr Certification & Workshop will enable me to come away with skills to not only work with my own body, but to work with private clients, as well as the basics of teaching a somatic class or incorporating somatic principles and practices into my regular yoga class offerings.
I am very excited to be learning more about this incredible healing modality and to be able to start offering this to my students and clients in the near future!

Yoga Class Description

We work through the entirety of the Primary Series Standing Sequence and a sampling of the seated sequence, with modifications offered throughout to accommodate different levels of experience. Be prepared to gain an understanding of your mental and physical limits and learn about finding your “grace” – the space between effort and ease where you can fully benefit from each pose, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Students must be able to move from seated to standing and back to seated. The Ashtanga sequences make it easy for students to develop a personal practice and give a fundamental understanding that can be applied to all yoga.

This class incorporates soothing gentle yoga movements, meditation, pranayama (breathwork), and an extended relaxation session.

Ashtanga with a twist! We take the primary series and loosen it up. The order may be similar with some changes, from sun salutations through the standing sequence to seated. It may look and feel familiar but we will breakdown poses and concentrate on form and function. Change your perspective on Ashtanga!
